Qualifications:
- Experience working in a school kitchen or cafeteria preferred
Job Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and support the kitchen staff, ensuring effective team collaboration and task completion in a timely, safe, and organized manner.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare, cook, and serve breakfast and lunch items according to menu plans and production schedules.
- Ordering & Inventory: Order all food and kitchen supplies for Macatawa Bay Middle School using GFS and other approved vendors. Monitor inventory and ensure proper food storage and rotation.
- Menu Planning/Lead Meetings: Collaborate with the Food Service Director, Assistant Director & other secondary leads to assist in planning balanced, appealing, and compliant school menus.
- Cash Handling & Financial Recording: Responsible for cashing out all kitchen cash registers daily and entering bank deposit records into district financial software.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local food safety and nutrition regulations. Maintain accurate production records, temperature logs, and other required documentation.
- Additional Administrative Duties: Complete and review required reports and paperwork, including production sheets, inventory logs, and sanitation checklists.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry 20-50 pounds.
- Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
- Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- The worker is subject to environmental conditions.
- The worker should provide consistent and in person reliable attendance.
