Reports To: Principal of WOVA
Beginning: August 15th, 2026
Hours: 20 hours a week (school calendar) � Work days and times will be established based on the mutual needs of the candidate and West Ottawa Virtual Academy
Overview: This Student Success Paraprofessional at the West Ottawa Virtual Academy (WOVA) will directly provide targeted intervention for struggling students, enhance in-person academic support, provide one-on-one mentorship to virtual students, and support the smooth operation of virtual learning platforms and testing requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
- College academic background in mathematics and English is preferred.
- Ability to proficiently and efficiently work within multiple technology platforms and programs, including but not limited to Google Suite, Canvas, and Infinite Campus.
- Demonstrated personal integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
- Strong experience in providing friendly, accurate, and timely verbal and written communication to diverse stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, one-on-one mentorship and academic support to students in the virtual learning environment.
- Assist in the successful operation and implementation of the intervention protocol for students identified as needing additional in-person academic support and structure.
- Provide friendly, accurate, and constructive feedback regarding student progress to parents, teachers, administrators, and other relevant stakeholders within and beyond the school community.
- Support the smooth operation and utilization of the Canvas Learning Platform and associated educational programs.
- Support the Principal in preparing for and administering various state and local testing requirements as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and in accordance with district policies.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
