About the Team
The Senior Database Consultant will join a dynamic and dedicated consulting team at Nutanix, located in Italy. This team is focused on delivering top-notch database management solutions and services to enterprise clients. The culture within the team promotes collaboration, technical excellence, and a strong emphasis on communication, particularly with senior leadership. The mission of the team is to understand and meet client needs while navigating the complexities of database technologies in both cloud and on-premises environments.
You will report to the Director, Professional Services, who values technical expertise combined with strong communication skills. The manager's leadership style is supportive and encourages team members to engage in continuous learning and professional development. The role is primarily remote, allowing for flexible work-from-home arrangements, although the team operates with a focus on client interactions and may require occasional in-office attendance, when necessary, without specific days mandated for office presence.
The position requires the candidate to be prepared for travel, for in-person client meetings. This travel is essential to foster relationships and ensure the delivery of high-quality consulting services aligned with client expectations.
Your Role
- Engage with clients to assess their database needs and provide tailored consulting solutions.
- Manage and oversee the administration of Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgres databases.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Present technical solutions and project updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Implement best practices for database backups, data warehousing, and performance optimization.
- Provide training and support to clients on database products and solutions.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in database technologies.
- Work closely with team members to translate client requirements into effective database solutions.
What You Will Bring
- Minimum 5 years of experience in database management supporting enterprise end users, with exposure to the public sector market ideally preferred
- Proficiency in Oracle, SQL Server, or Postgres, with motivation to learn other databases.
- Full professional proficiency in English, with additional proficiency in Italian or Spanish
- Strong database administration and management skills.
- Ability to present technical information to senior leadership.
- Experience with both cloud-based and on-premises database solutions.
- Knowledge of database backups, data warehousing, and architecture.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings
