Job Description
Summer work is required to maintain accuracy, assure safety, and meet all required state mandates, both current and pending. Usual annual summer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
New entrants: Initiate, review and document the health records of any incoming students.
Allergy/Anaphylaxis, Medications, Medically Fragile Students:
- Contact each parent to review student needs and develop Individualized Health Plans and Medical Management Plans.
- Collect medication authorizations and emergency meds for each student.
- Update eSchool
- Disseminate all information to staff via email as needed to ensure safety from Day 1.
- Inventory medication and place any necessary orders
- Creation of sub-nurse binder in case of emergency or unexpected or planned absences.
- Creation of evacuation and lockdown plan specific to school and student needs.
- Continuous tracking, follow up calls, data collection and recording, and communications to assure NYSED compliance as well as a safe and efficient school opening in September.
