Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst, Business Intelligence will be a key contributor to the Commercial Finance and Pricing department, driving efficiency and strategic decision-making through actionable business insights. This role involves leveraging advanced technology and collaborating closely with IT to develop and implement robust business intelligence tools. A primary focus will be on optimizing critical financial processes through standardization, automation, and empowering self-service solutions for both Finance and our commercial partners in Sales and Marketing. The analyst will also be instrumental in redefining profitability allocations, enhancing data accuracy, and supporting the sales excellence team with data-driven strategies to improve overall sales effectiveness and with aligning the marketing team to the true drivers of their portfolio performance.
Responsibilities:
Assist the month end close process by aligning our profitability tool to our P&L, this requires a developed Financial acumen skill that enables you to translate our manufacturing processes and Financial models into a complex profitability tool
Manage technology projects, gather customer requirements and work together with IT to deliver the right solution for the team in terms of pioneering new strategic approaches to business intelligence, leveraging advanced analytics to uncover insights that solve complex business challenges and drive continuous improvement in our data quality and structure.
Redefine profitability allocations in terms of transactional data accuracy and allocation methodology, driving enhanced business drivers and adapting to the various complexities within our business cost structure
Be a strategic business partner with the sales excellence team to further drive sales strategies and effectiveness through business intelligence tools, cloud platforms, and new ways of thinking about the business
Be the leader for change management by being an advocate for change, proactively guiding teams toward using all of our tools and highlighting all the advantages of BI; you are the expert of our tools, understand all their potential, and can provide training to all our cross functional teams.
Partner with internal team members to understand their needs and translate them into new dashboards/reports/insights that help them understand all key drivers within their customer or product portfolios.
Support our strategy of moving the organization up the Business Intelligence learning curve into a full self service model with sustainable, adaptable, and dynamic business practices that eliminate non-value added work.
Establish and build upon strong, cohesive working relationships between Finance and all our team members in IT and the Commercial organization
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required; Finance, Business Analytics, or Accounting preferred
5+ years of progressive experience in finance and/or accounting, with significant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Proven expertise in developing robust and dynamic financial models that translate complex data into clear, strategic narratives for executive-level business stakeholders
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of effective cross-functional leadership and the ability to articulate complex business results, opportunities, and risks to diverse audiences
Extensive experience working in a commercial (finance, marketing, sales) setting, demonstrating mastery of commercial hierarchies and business context
Advanced proficiency in software and data platforms, including Google platforms, Excel, Oracle EBS/R12, Oracle PCM, BigQuery, SQL, Salesforce, Pricefx, and Oracle Business Intelligence suite (OAC)
Demonstrated initiative and intellectual curiosity to continuously learn and leverage advanced analytics to deliver proactive, data-driven insights that drive significant action and execution
A history of successfully driving automation, implementing AI tools and programs, and leading process optimization efforts across the organization
Meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities required for complex business challenges
Additional Information
The salary range for this position will be $80,000 - 107,000 / year.
The hiring base salary range represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
