FULL TIME
TITLE: Migrant Education Program Recruiter
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two-Year Degree or 48 semester hours of college-level work (preferred)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Valid NC Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Thorough knowledge of the geographic area
- Willingness to work irregular hours
REPORTS TO: Director of Federal Programs and Director of Student Services
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10-month work year
STARTING SALARY AND/OR GRADE: TBD
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board and local policy on evaluation of personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Understand all federal regulations pertaining to the Migrant Education Program
- Attend all trainings for recruiters and data entry clerks
- Identify and recruit migrant students using various manners that include but are not limited to occupational surveys, MSIX, canvassing targeted areas, contacting local farms and businesses, and DPI reporting
- Collaborate with school staff to maintain appropriate records of migrant students. Serve as a liaison between home and school; continually striving to maintain positive communication with migrant families
- Provide supportive services to migrant youth and families as necessary to enable migrant youth to receive a sound education
- Maintain records and transmit all pertinent information to NCDPI in a timely and accurate manner
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:
The major physical and cognitive requirements listed are applicable to the Migrant Recruiter job
classification within Wayne County Public Schools. Work in this classification is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.

- Operate a variety of equipment, including computers, copiers, and projectors
- Operate a motor vehicle
