Job Description

I. TITLE: Behavior Liaison/ Office Coordinator � Student Services
 

II. QUALIFICATIONS:

A. High School Diploma.
B. Excellent computer skills i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point. Demonstrated skill in the use of formulas, charts, mail merge, formatting, and presentation development. Ability to learn student software records program.
C. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
D. Must be a team player; flexible and occasionally work beyond the scheduled hours.
E. Training and experience in clerical procedures and skills. 
F. Ability to interact positively with staff, students, and the public.
G. Must be able to work well under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines. 
H. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and deadlines; must be able to manage multiple tasks and heavy workload.
I. Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal direct supervision.
J. Ability to handle and maintain confidential documents as requested.
K. Two years experience in clerical or secretarial work requiring frequent contact with the public.
L. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
 

III. REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services
 

IV. JOB GOALS:

 To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Student Services office so that the maximum positive impact on the education of students may be achieved.
 

V. NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB:

A. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality in regards to students, parents, staff, and patrons.
B. Maintains working knowledge of Director's key issues, commitments, priorities and preferences. Maintains appropriate contact with patrons, district executives, and their respective staffs for the purpose of exchanging information and arranging meetings.
C. Work closely with the Director of Special Services and assist the Director with a variety of duties.
D. Provides a variety of specialized administrative support within department through research, complex analysis and coordination.
E. Places and receives telephone calls cordially and accurately records messages. Directs inquiries to the appropriate administrators or departments when needed.
F. Schedules and prepares meeting areas and makes other arrangements as requested.
G. Processes incoming and outgoing correspondence as instructed. Discusses pertinent information with the Director of Student Services. Uses e-mail to send messages to staff members.
H. Serves as a liaison and follows through with requests from Psychologists, Consulting Teachers, Speech Language Pathologists, Early Childhood Special Education personnel, and other ancillary staff members.
I. Performs bookkeeping tasks as instructed.
J. Maintains a database of all Itinerant staff, Special Education staff and paraprofessionals. Makes changes as necessary to keep information current.
K. Attends evening and extended day meetings as requested.
L. Provides administrative support as requested. Prepares reports of a nontechnical or semi-technical nature.
M. Creates and maintains an ancillary staff schedule. Makes changes as necessary and submits information to schools periodically.
N. Onboard, train and maintain our behavior Interventionists. Model and understand the behavior interventionists position.
O. Works closely with Special Education Teachers to regularly check students progress, take care of any issues that may arise. 
P. Maintains desk procedures and files related to the position.
Q. Is aware of mandated changes to Special Education Rules and Regulations Manual and keeps manual current.
R. Has regular and predictable attendance.
 

VI. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Performs all other duties as assigned.
 

VII. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The "employment at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees.
 

VIII. EVALUATION:

 Performance of this position will be evaluated by the Director of Student Services in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
