Job Description

TITLE: Jefferson High School Community School Coordinator
 
Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience working with students and communities.
  2. Must be 21 years of age
  3. Excellent organizational skills.
  4. .Ability to maintain budgets.
  5. Ability to maintain a positive environment.
  6. Works well with students, staff, and the public
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  8. Able to work under pressure and deadlines.
  9. Maintain confidentiality.
  10. Regular attendance and predictable attendance.
  11. Must have own transportation. 

Reports to: Building Administrator
 
Job Goals:
 

Coordinate community school efforts and plan recreational and educational activities for students of Jefferson High School and the larger community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and retain community partnerships that further the mission of the school
  • Assess needs within the school and work with building leadership to determine interventions and supports
  • Planning and implementing program activities that are culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate including education, technology, arts and crafts, sports, and games.
  • Supervise students, volunteers, special events, and all activities held at the school and ensure a safe positive experience for children and adults.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with children, parents, caregivers, and volunteers.
  • Develop policies and procedures, public relations and volunteer training and recruiting.
  • Planning and preparation for special events as required.
  • Attend staff trainings and meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

This is a grant funded position and is contingent upon grant funding

.
This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The "employment at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees.

Compensation:
Wages TBD 
35 hours per week
 
Evaluation:
 
Performance of this position will be evaluated by the building administrator.
