As an Archdiocesan 9�12 high school, Seton Catholic is committed to developing the whole student through higher learning, deeper faith, and stronger character, offering a rigorous academic program that includes numerous Advanced Placement courses.
Position Overview
Seton Catholic is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Learning Support Counselor for the 2026�2027 school year beginning in August. This unique role combines responsibilities in student transition into ninth grade and support of students with Student Learning Plans.
Learning support services at Seton Catholic offers students with Learning Disabilities/ADHD, the support they need to develop and grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The Learning Support Counselor (LSC) supports the implementation of a Student Learning Plan based on documentation stating diagnosis and recommended school/classroom accommodations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports students with recommended school accommodations due to a diagnosis that may impair academic progress. (ADHD, ASD, specific learning disability, or physical impairments.)
- Reviews all documentation, such as IEP's and psychoeducational assessments, for students requesting school accommodations due to a diagnosis.
- Collaborates with administration, parents, and the student to identify student needs and implement differentiated instruction and learning accommodations for teachers to include in the classroom.
- Supports the creation of a Student Learning Plan which states school accommodations recommended on the documentation report by the professional provider.
- Recommends community resources with professionals including, tutors and/or educational therapists to support student success. (**Parents are informed that the school does not guarantee outcome of services of referrals and that it is the parents decision to agree to use the referral.)
- Collaborates with Teachers regarding Student Learning Plans/classroom accommodations
- Collaborates with the College Counselor when they refer students at academic risk or with high challenging needs to the Learning Support Counselor.
- Collaborates with the College Counselor as needed for students shared on both caseloads.
- Tracks students with a Student Learning Plan on their academic progress by meeting with these students regularly as needed.
- Proctors students with approved extended time accommodations for Advanced Placement and PSAT testing
- Facilitates the transition for incoming 9th graders and transfer students, especially with accommodation needs.
- Provides small group academic support to students with Student Learning Plans who are in need of strengthening their study skills and executive function strategies.
- Participates in professional development to stay current of best practices in learning differences and neurodiversity

Education and Experience
- Degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification preferred.
- Previous experience working with students in a school counseling setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development, social-emotional learning, and behavioral interventions.
- Knowledge of Catholic teachings and a commitment to fostering a faith-filled school environment.

Scope of Work:
This is a 10-month position with the following schedule:
- Monday: 1:00 PM � 3:00 PM
- Tuesday - Friday: 8 hours per day
- Summer: Approximately 20 hours per week
Salary Range: Hourly Rate: $21.00 � $25.00
Salary is determined based on internal equity, market data, and candidate experience, education, and certifications.
