
Instructional Assistant, St. Louise Bellevue
Job Description
Position Summary
The Instructional Aide is a part-time position and supports classroom teachers in providing a nurturing, structured, and faith-centered learning environment. The aide assists with instructional activities, classroom management, supervision, and student support to help ensure the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of students. The Instructional Aide may support several teachers and does not just have one classroom that they work in.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities
- Maintain flexibility and go where the need is to support teachers in grades 1-5
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students
- Support students with differentiated instruction and accommodations
- Support classroom management and reinforce positive behavior strategies
- Support students in developing independence, responsibility, and positive peer interactions
- Foster social, emotional and academic growth of students
- Participate in prayer, religious activities, Mass, and liturgical celebrations
- Prepare instructional materials and organize classroom resources
- Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and transitions
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters
- Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of and respect for the mission of Catholic education
- Willingness to support and model Catholic teachings and practices
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Salary: Hourly rate: $21-24, Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
Benefits: This position is not benefits eligible.
