Using airway epithelial cell models, bacterial cultures, 3D cell culture and organoid-based systems, and patient-derived samples such as exhaled breath condensate and sputum, the lab works to uncover mechanisms that drive disease and identify potential therapeutic targets.

Responsibilities include maintaining airway epithelial cell cultures, supporting the development and optimization of 3D culture and organoid models, conducting assays such as transfection, bacterial adherence and internalization, PCR, western blotting, immunofluorescence, and other cell-based assays, and assisting with advanced data analysis and troubleshooting. The position will also involve developing, adapting, and optimizing new laboratory protocols as research needs evolve. Additional responsibilities include preparing figures for presentations and publications, performing literature searches, contributing to manuscripts and grant materials, and helping manage lab supplies and inventory.
