Job Overview:
Manages and supports Facilities Engineering and fire protection projects and operations from start to finish. Develops project objectives by applying best practices. Monitors project budget and timeline.
Responsibilities:
Manage and supports engineering projects. From feasibility studies via preparation project tendering till final acceptance, design and construction activities in given Area of Responsibility.
Designs, communicates, and implements a project plan
Monitors project progress and performance against project plan; and manages PCO/RFQ requests
Analyzes drawings and communicates discrepancies to vendors for corrections
Prepares engineering designs and work specifications
Conduct project meetings and prepare status reports. Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends
Resolves operational problems and minimizes delays using most appropriate option or improve existing approaches
Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors
Supports setup of contacts with internal / external Mercedes-Benz partners and worldwide external business partners
Will receive input from project teams and working groups. Reporting to the project teams and project committees.
May help coordinate the work of junior members of the team.
Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings
Owns/ manages site fire protection systems – operation, testing, maintenance and modifications per NFPA
Fire Preventative Maintenance documents, operating procedures, implementation, and auditing in iPRO system.
Will perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related area.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
· SAP Key User Proficiency – iPro preferred
· Team Player and able to work in a complex, diverse group.
· Manages input from the project teams and working groups.
· Reporting to the project teams and project committees. Technical understanding with construction and facilities maintenance.
· NFPA expertise (NFPA 13, 25, 72, AND 101)
· Independent worker and able to form complex relationships.
· Good coordination skills with multiple parties. Good communication skills at all levels; written and oral.
· Very confident with computer programs (e.g. windows programs).

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brand Mercedes-Benz. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
