Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
|
The Patient Safety Tech (CNA), working under the supervision and guidance of professional nursing staff provides ongoing monitoring of the patient to assist the health care team maintain a safe and comfortable environment. |
Key Job Responsibilities
|
Essential Function |
|
Receives assignments as directed in accordance with established policies and procedures including age specific patient needs. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care and meet patient needs in a caring, compassionate, and sensitive manner. |
|
Provides patient care by performing assigned tasks for patient care plan implementation.
|
|
Performs technical procedures as delegated and after observation by the RN/LPN according to unit policy.
|
|
Sits in the patient’s room with an unobstructed view of the patient to observe the patient and maintain a safe environment. |
|
Provides nourishments and water, prepares patients for meals by assisting with tray set up. |
|
Accompanies and remains with patient for clinical tests or procedures off the unit. |
|
Provides direct patient care in accordance with patient treatment plans to meet the personal needs and comfort of patient as directed by RN/Nursing Supervisor. |
|
Essential Function |
|
|
|
Reports any unusual changes in the patient’s condition or behavior to patient’s primary nurse or team leader/PCC. |
|
Transports records, equipment and supplies to and from department in a safe and timely manner. |
|
Interacts and communicates with members of the health care team, patients and visitors in a customer responsive and courteous manner. |
|
Keeps patient and nursing areas clean and orderly. Assists with stocking supplies/inventory. |
|
Adheres to established department policies and procedures and maintains compliance, performance improvement, safety, environmental and infection control programs. |
