Job Description

Sunset Distributing is seeking a detail-oriented manager to oversee their inventory purchasing team. The Forecast Manager uses all available resources to formulate accurate sales forecasts. The Forecast Manager reports directly to the Sr. Director of Operations and has regular communication with the Region Vice President.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess sales history, seasonal trends, and price promotions to formulate sales forecasts. 
  • Review current inventory, purchase orders and sales forecast to place or change purchase orders accurately and timely.
  • Review daily sales, daily inventory levels, and purchase orders to ensure proper DOH and prevent out of stock situations.
  • Review code date inventory, daily sales and projected sales and communicate findings to senior leadership to minimize write-offs.
  • Track open orders.
  • Schedule pick-ups and transfers as needed.
  • Maintain and update SOP for OrderStream.
  • Lead, coach, and develop purchasing team. 
  • Collaborate with Sales and Brand Management teams on new suppliers, brands, core items, and special releases. 
  • Coordinate with Inventory team to monitor DOH, proper rotation, and eliminate out of stock situations.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • General computer usage knowledge, experience with software including PDFs, web browsers VIP, iDig, Formstack, and Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint are preferred with the ability to learn Company-selected software 
  • Excellent 10-key skills (numeric data entry) 
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Valid CA driver's license with insurable driving record. 
  • Frequent travel between distribution locations (LA & SD) required.
