Job Description
The Aerospace Specialist plays a critical role in delivering 24/7 AOG (Aircraft on Ground) support and related aerospace services. This position acts as the primary liaison between DSV Operations and aerospace customers, ensuring the efficient handling of urgent AOG and engine shipments. Key responsibilities include managing all AOG and engine shipping activities through the Aerospace Platform, prioritizing shipments in line with KPI requirements, and maintaining compliance with SOPs, customs, airline, and DG regulations. The role involves close coordination with global operations, airlines, couriers, and third-party vendors to meet agreed transit times and provide proactive milestone updates to customers.
Your typical day at DSV:
- Work within a team of Aerospace Specialists providing 24/7 AOG support on a rostered basis.
- Control AOG and engine shipments through the Aerospace Platform for maximum efficiency.
- Liaise with overseas operations, AOG desks, airlines, couriers, and vendors to schedule shipments based on customer requirements.
- Prioritize AOG shipments in line with KPIs and follow up proactively with stakeholders.
- Handle engine quotations and ensure compliance with engine SOPs and handling regulations.
- Book AOG shipments, arrange domestic bookings, and maintain accurate records in legacy systems.
- Provide timely milestone updates to customers and attend calls or meetings as required.
- Track and trace missing shipments, resolve delays, and assist with quotations and tenders.
- Promote OH&S and security culture, adhere to all regulations, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
About you:
- Industry experience and knowledge of aerospace industry operations and freight forwarding systems.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Dangerous Goods certification (preferred).
