Medical Assistant (2480)

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our vascular team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ to assist Provider(s) in daily operations of his/her clinic and patient care. 

Responsibilities: 

• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients 
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information of patients’ charts. 
• Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment 
• Assists with wound care 
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials 
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests 
• Screens telephone calls for physicians 
• Returns patient phone calls 
• Calls in patient prescriptions 
• Schedule hospital and outpatient surgeries 
• Answers triage calls 
• Travel required 
• Other related duties may be assigned

Requirements:

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program
• Cardiac Experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge in medical terminology
