Back to jobsWorks closely and collaboratively with Project Managers, Engineers, Document, Inventory and Quality control groups to procure materials.
Identifies new and existing suppliers capable of meeting materials specifications, quality requirements and lead times to successfully support production schedules and meeting customer commitments.
Requests quotations, negotiates pricing and delivery schedules. Facilitates contract and T&C negotiations.
Compiles quotes comparison matrixes and collaborates with project managers for optimal supplier selection.
Releases new materials and maintains pricing, lead time and purchasing parameters in the ERP and Document Control systems.
Issues purchase orders and manages open orders in the ERP system with emphasis on data accuracy.
Monitors open purchase orders to ensure on-time deliveries.
Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information.
Proactively reports potential shortages and availability issues to project managers, manufacturing & planning organizations and works with suppliers to resolve delays.
Establishes priorities for assigned suppliers to meet customer (internal or external) requirements.
Act as primary interface between internal customers and source of supply in technical, quality and FAI discussions.
Controls the inventory of assigned products in accordance with customer requirements and management objectives.
Processes returns of non-conforming products to suppliers.
Supports other members of the Purchasing team as needed through cross training and flexing as workload dictates.
Will help define, develop and document Supply Chain and Purchasing processes for New Program Introductions.
Will be subject matter expert and provide direction for the purchasing aspects of the ERP transition to SAP
May be required to perform as a buyer/planner role in a new product introduction.
Ensures compliance with company operating policies and procedures.
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Complete special projects and assignments as requested by Management
