Job Summary
SummaryResponsible for providing quality patient care while producing ultrasound images and patterns used for patient diagnosis and treatment. The responsibilities also include completing scans effectively and efficiently while maintaining the highest possible standards of patient care to provide the most remarkable patient experience.

Essential Functions
-Patient & Exam Verification: Confirm patient identity using two identifiers (full name and DOB). Review exam orders and clinical history. Prepare and clean equipment and rooms; restock supplies as needed.
-Patient Care & Collaboration: Clearly explain procedures, considering patient comfort and confidentiality. Collaborate with leadership to ensure efficient workflow and scanner use. Provide care within the scope of training and licensure.
-Department & On-Call Coverage: Participate in on-call, holiday, and flexible shift coverage as needed.
-Clinical Performance: Perform ultrasound exams and assist with training staff and students. Operate equipment and follow protocols. Complete additional duties as assigned.
-Research & Quality Initiatives: Support and participate in departmental research, QA, and improvement projects. Conduct research-related ultrasound exams as required.
Qualifications
Education
Other Certificate/Diploma Diagnostic Imaging required or Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Diagnostic Medical Sonographer required and Associate's Degree Diagnostic Imaging preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Certified Sonographer - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 90 days
or Sonography [R.T.(S)(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Experience
Ultrasound Technologist 0-1 year required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of computer operations relating to Imaging, Electronic Health Records, Reporting Systems, PACS, and all Hospital Information Systems that integrate with the department, relating to patient information and management.
- Possesses analytical abilities necessary to effectively utilize advanced knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, procedures, and anatomy.
- Exemplifies flexibility and willingness to adapt to the operational needs and presents as a positive representative of the department.
- Excellent attention to detail, written, and communication skills
- Use independent judgment and initiative under pressure in a variety of situations.
- Maintains effective working relations and communication with colleagues and patients.
