Job Description:
The Associate Director of Agency Transformation and Strategy will be responsible for supporting and executing the strategic initiatives focused on optimizing the agency distribution model and enhancing the productivity and effectiveness of the agency workforce. This role will work closely with Head of Agency Transformation and Strategy, agency management, and cross-functional teams to craft and drive effective strategies to implement various agency programme, including recruiting high-potential individuals with entrepreneurial aspirations, nurturing their growth, and guiding them toward building successful and sustainable careers as financial entrepreneurs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Agency Strategy & Transformation
Support formulation and execution of agency strategic initiatives to drive sustainable growth in production and headcount
Conduct market intelligence and competitive benchmarking (e.g., promotion rules, compensation, recruitment packages)
Drive transformation projects across agency structure, productivity, and recruitment quality
2. KPI Management & Performance Tracking
Develop and maintain agency KPI framework covering:
Sales (AFYP)
Recruitment (Headcount, Activity Ratio)
Productivity & quality metrics
Perform regular performance tracking, analysis, and insight generation for management review
Prepare business performance reports and presentations for senior management and Regional Office
Identify performance gaps and recommend actionable improvement initiatives
3. Compensation Framework & Revamp
Support design, review, and enhancement of agency compensation schemes (advisor & manager levels)
Conduct impact analysis and financial modeling for compensation changes
Ensure alignment with business strategy, productivity improvement, and cost efficiency
Work closely with Finance, HR, and Compliance on implementation and governance
4. Agency Promotion & Career Progression Framework
Review and enhance promotion criteria across different agency levels
Monitor promotion performance and ensure sustainability of leadership pipeline
Develop structured progression pathways to support talent development from advisor to leadership roles
5. Healthy Agency Development
Drive initiatives to improve:
Agency quality (productive & active agents)
Recruitment quality vs quantity
Manager capability and retention
Support structured programs (e.g., onboarding, training, leadership development)
Ensure alignment with Asia Operating Guidelines and governance requirements
6. Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with:
Zone Heads & DOAs
Finance, HR, Compliance, Marketing
Regional Office stakeholders
Act as a strategic partner to translate business needs into actionable frameworks and policies
Qualifications and Experience:
8+ years of experience in the insurance industry, with a strong background in agency distribution and transformation initiatives.
Proven track record of designing and executing large-scale development programme or initiatives
Deep understanding of agency management and experienced in utilizing data analytics to drive decision-making, assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Leadership qualities to drive initiatives independently and lead cross-functional projects.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
Relevant educational background in business, technology, or a related field.
