Shifts Available and Hours: Night Shift
Site and Systems Familiarity Training – Dayshift M-F 6A-2P for approximately 6 months.
After Training Period – Rotating Night Shift Rotation Schedule:
Five nights on 10:00 pm- 6:00 am Monday- Friday; then Five nights off; Eights nights on; Three nights off as follows: Thursday 8:00 pm- 6:00 am; Friday- Sunday 6:00 pm- 6:00 am; Monday- Thursday 8:00 pm- 6:00 am.
What you will be doing
- Assist with installation, start-up, and maintenance of plant/ facility electrical equipment and control systems, with particular emphasis on troubleshooting PLC-based control systems.
- PLC and HMI/operator interface configurations and low-level program changes such as adding/changing alarms, adding/changing timers, or other minor program changes.
- Assist operating and maintenance departments in selecting and standardizing equipment, software, device upgrades, drivers, and interfaces to improve equipment operation and control system reliability.
- Provide written documentation of changes and notifications to all maintenance employees when significant changes are made to control systems so that troubleshooters on all shifts are aware of recent changes.
- Communicate within the department, and with the other PLC Techs and Plant Maintenance Management, as needed to resolve problems that are beyond your ability to correct.
- Contact equipment suppliers for technical support, as needed.
What will make you successful?
Required Education/Experience:
- High school diploma/ GED is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system, PC/software configurations, and how PLC software works with computer operating systems.
- Selected candidates will be required to pass written and hands-on tests.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- 2- 5 years maintenance experience preferred.
- Associate degree in electrical/electronic technology field preferred or prior knowledge working in a PLC environment.
- Programming/navigating and troubleshooting PLC control systems is preferred.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC-5, SLC-500, ControlLogix, and Panelview Plus is a big plus.
- Familiarity with the following industrial control communication protocols: ControlNet, Ethernet, DH+, Remote I/O, and DeviceNet preferred.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and combustion control systems is a plus.
