Job Description
Eurasia Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Researcher to join our Global Energy & Natural Resources practice, to be located in the firm's Washington, DC or New York City offices.
In this position, you will support the Global Energy and Natural Resources (GENR) team, with specific responsibility for assessing the political and regulatory risks impacting the global commodities sector. You will have the opportunity to assist in developing coverage of oil, gas/power and renewable energy issues of relevance to Eurasia Group's financial, corporate, and government clients. You will either have, or will develop, the ability to analyze important policy drivers and industry fundamentals in the global commodity markets. You will support the members of the energy team by assisting in research requests, writing, and data gathering.
You will perform in-depth research and will write both short analyses and longer papers.
You will have excellent research capabilities as well as analytic and writing skills, at native English standard.
You will have at a minimum a BA in political science or a relevant field, an MA is preferred. Candidates must have demonstrable academic and work experience (including internships) that is relevant to commodities. A foreign language skill is a plus but not essential. You will have both qualitative and quantitative experience and in building PowerPoints presentations. Also, a candidate with journalism experience related to Global Energy and Natural Resources is advantageous.

As part of Eurasia Group’s Political Risk Training Program, the GENR Researcher will gain hands-on training in the dynamic field of political risks analysis. Along with supporting the energy team, the program will also include a formal training component, focusing on key issues in the preparation and presentation of political risk analysis.
This program provides full-time employment at Eurasia Group for one year, with the possibility of extending the contract for an additional year. The program does not guarantee full-time employment with the firm thereafter.
