Job Description
GZERO Media is seeking a Producer for our flagship show,
GZERO World with Ian Bremmer, which airs on public television and across our
digital platforms. This position is based in our NYC headquarters in the
Flatiron district.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in broadcast production and an interest/background in geopolitics/current affairs. You will be one of two Producers responsible for producing the interview and monologue segments of the program from start to finish. This includes researching and pitching content ideas, booking guests, coordinating with freelance production crews, field producing, scriptwriting and supervising the edit. You are a planner, extremely organized, and comfortable making quick decisions on the fly. This role involves frequent travel in the US and abroad since our show is not produced in-studio, but on location around the world. Many shoots are in NYC and DC, but recent shoots also include Tokyo, Munich, and Mountain View, CA. You will be a critical member of the production team, with significant editorial authority and opportunity to impact the direction of the show.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of broadcast and/or
digital video production, in the news and/or current affairs arena
- Experience producing television
segments and/or shows from pitch to air, including field production,
interviews, editing, and graphics oversight.
- Solid script writing skills and
editorial judgement
- Experience producing on deadline
for a daily or weekly show with strict deadlines and short turnarounds.
- Experience with Adobe Suite,
specifically Premiere Pro, Photoshop, AfterEffects, Illustrator
- Guest booking and interview
experience
- Highly organized, acute attention
to detail and a forward planner
- Comfortable juggling complex
logistics and timelines
- A passion for geopolitics and
current events is a must
