Position Overview: As member of the Stability and Connection Division, you will join an incredibly talented and hardworking Civic Engagement Program dedicated to voter education and empowerment, community mobilization, and leadership development to advance BakerRipley’s impact across Greater Houston.

Reporting to the Manager of Voter Engagement (MVE) and Lead Specialist of Voter Engagement (LSVE), the Field Organizer (FO) is responsible for assisting in the execution of agency voter engagement activities across the Greater Houston area for the November 2026 election, with a particular focus on engaging low-propensity voters, young adults, and New Americans.

The FO will organize, plan, and implement nonpartisan Get Out the Vote (GOTV) activities, including but not limited to canvassing, phone-banking, text-banking, relational organizing, and volunteer recruitment in collaboration with key community partners, with the aim of increasing voter turnout. Additionally, the FO will support the Civic Engagement Team’s overall community leadership development and capacity-building work.

Expected Positive Outcomes:

  • Voter contact and voter education activities are implemented in BakerRipley’s target neighborhoods and turnout (attendance) numbers meet the established goal.
  • Non-partisan GOTV campaigns, designed to increase voter turnout in BakerRipley’s target neighborhoods, are implemented and the number of touch points (contacts) established as the goal is achieved.
  • All data is accurately tracked and recorded; all goals are accurately measured; and all necessary research and evaluations are completed and reported as required.

Essential Functions:

  • Execute and implement nonpartisan GOTV campaigns to increase voter turnout in target neighborhoods.
  • Support the implementation of voter contact and voter education activities in target neighborhoods, working with applicable community partners, stakeholders, Community Engineers, and neighbors, including voter registration.
  • Take the lead on special projects as assigned by the MVE and LSVE.
  • Identifies and liaises with volunteers, community partners, stakeholders, and leaders to advance program goals.
  • Manages relational organizing and youth leadership volunteers to ensure program completion and technical support.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 0-3 years of experience in voter engagement and GOTV campaigns preferred
  • Spanish language fluency or proficiency preferred
  • Prior experience organizing preferred, particularly in East Aldine, East End, Golfcrest-Greater Hobby, Gulfton Sharpstown, Near Northside, Pasadena-South Houston, or Richmond-Rosenberg
  • Experience with GOTV apps and technology such as VAN, MiniVAN, Empower, Reach, and Organizer preferred
