Job Description
The Facility Maintenance Tech: position is characterized as an integral part of the daily operations of the facilities department as well as the agency. As the first point of contact for the facility department work in the field, this individual sets the tone for a positive effective encounter for facilities services. This supports our core values by being responsive to our client’s request and needs. The position also responds to the ever-changing needs of the agency and facilities department. This individual works respectively with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
CORE DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES / SKILLS:
- Working knowledge and working proficiency of commercial building system components and function, related to building repairs, replacement and maintenance.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, work under pressure and maintain confidentiality in regards to all company operations.
- Answer all calls, texts and emails on company phone or tablet.
- Follow Guidelines for checking in and out with Dispatch through-out the day.
- Complete Work Order Tickets in a timely manner(1-3 days) and notify dispatch of any delays(ie: Parts Ordered) to give an estimated time for completion.
- Responsible for informing Dispatch and the Customer of any delays as to keep all involved up to date on any Work Order Tickets that maybe delayed for unforeseen problems.
- Responsible for completing reports…On Call, Expense, Vehicle Inspection, Evaluations, WeConnect Forms and Work Order Tickets by their due dates.
- Responsible for learning the On Call phone and all apps associated with the On Call phone.
- Responsible for leaning all Emergency contacts associated with BakerRipley Facilities department.
- Responds to facility related issues and emergencies as needed and coordinates an appropriate response according to established agency and department guidelines.
- Assist (as requested) in conducting quarterly inspection of facilities, and meets with on-site program management to identify safety and maintenance concerns and coordinate necessary actions.
- Ensures adherence to safe work practices which comply with all company procedures and policies of BakerRipley Successfully complete routine safety trainings and programs.
This position is considered essential staff and will be on call to respond to facility emergencies 24 hours a day / 7 days a week unless on approved vacation. The employee will be issued a cell phone for this purpose and must reply to emergency calls within 15 minutes of the initial call. Emergency response includes both (short-term)
- intermittent events and participation as a key member of the agency’s Disaster Recovery Plan to support the restoration of the agency’s operations in the event of a disaster.
- Assist with projects and events as assigned by the Facilities Management team.
- Must know the general Houston region geography and the ability to navigate its primary roadway systems
- Ability to communicate well with others, take direction and work as a team.
