Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to lead the development and implementation of control systems for automation cells. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in PLC programming, HMI development, and system integration. You will play a key role in internal automation initiatives and help transition successful solutions into scalable products for our customers.
- Control System Architecture: Design and implement control systems for automation cells, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, and safety systems.
- Programming & Configuration: Develop and optimize Robot(e.g. Epson, Fairino) and PLC programs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMI interfaces, and motion control logic to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
- System Integration: Integrate electrical, mechanical, and software components into cohesive automation solutions. Ensure seamless communication between devices and subsystems.
- Project Execution: Lead controls-related aspects of automation projects from concept through commissioning. Ensure compliance with safety standards and performance requirements.
- Troubleshooting & Optimization: Diagnose and resolve control system issues during development and deployment. Continuously improve system performance and reliability.
- Productization & Customer Solutions: Support the transition of internal automation solutions into scalable, customer-ready products. Ensure control systems are user-friendly and adaptable.
- Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers, software developers, and production teams—locally and internationally—to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Documentation & Training: Create detailed documentation including ladder logic diagrams, control narratives, and troubleshooting guides. Train internal teams on system operation and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in control system design and industrial automation.
- Expertise in PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial communication protocols.
- Familiarity with robotic systems, motion control, and safety standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with system integration and commissioning.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for tradeshows and international collaboration.
