igus Inc. is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Senior Field Service Technician to support the deployment, commissioning, and ongoing service of automation and robotic systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful installation, operation, and maintenance of complex mechanical systems both in-house and at customer sites. You will serve as a technical expert, troubleshooting system issues, optimizing performance, and providing hands-on support throughout the system lifecycle.

What You’ll Work On:

· Field Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve mechanical and system-level issues at customer sites, minimizing downtime and ensuring system reliability.

· System Optimization: Perform system adjustments, alignment, and fine-tuning to improve performance, durability, and operational efficiency.

· Customer Engagement: Act as a technical liaison for customers, providing training, guidance, and support on system operation, maintenance, and best practices.

· Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, electrical teams, and project managers to ensure successful integration and continuous improvement of automation systems.

· Documentation & Reporting: Document service activities, system performance issues, and implemented solutions to support knowledge sharing, repeatability, and product improvement.

· Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to engineering teams on design enhancements, serviceability improvements, and standardization initiatives based on field experience.

Qualifications:

· 3-7+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, field service, or industrial automation systems

· Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and system layouts

· Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, alignment, motion systems, and tolerances

· Hands-on expertise with tools, diagnostics, and troubleshooting in real-world environments

· Experience working directly with customers in technical service or support roles

· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in the field

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills

· Willingness to travel as required
