The Leave of Absence (LOA) Coordinator is an integral member of the Southeast Asia Career Development (CD) team, sitting within the broader SEA People Team. The CD team plays an essential role in developing and strengthening BCG’s consulting talent pool — managing the full lifecycle of consultant growth, from career advisory and performance evaluation to leave planning and workforce continuity. The LOA Coordinator is a dedicated specialist within this team, ensuring that all leave of absence processes are managed with care, accuracy, and efficiency, and that LOA is well-integrated into the CD team’s broader view of consulting talents’ availability.

As the primary point of contact for consulting team members navigating LOA, this role is responsible for end-to-end coordination across the full leave lifecycle. The LOA Coordinator works in a close-knit team environment alongside CD colleagues, and engages regularly with a wide range of stakeholders, including the Consulting Team, Staffing, HR Shared Services (HRSS), and senior Managing Director & Partner stakeholders across Southeast Asia.

To be successful in this role, you need to be highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-focused. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are proactive in identifying and resolving issues before they escalate and are comfortable managing sensitive HR matters with the utmost confidentiality. You are a strong communicator who can clearly convey timelines and process updates to stakeholders at all levels. You are also adept at working with HR systems — particularly Workday — and maintaining accurate, real-time records.

LOA Management (80% of role)

  • Manage end-to-end LOA requests from consulting team members, including timely acknowledgement, processing, and closure of each case, serving as the primary point of contact throughout the leave process.
  • Communicate LOA timelines, decisions, and status updates clearly to all relevant stakeholders, including the Consulting Team, Staffing, and the CD team.
  • Communicate LOA timelines, decisions, and status updates clearly to all relevant stakeholders, including the Consulting team, Staffing, and the CD team.
  • Plan and execute FlexLeave and FlexMonths cycles in line with agreed timelines, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date tracking of all LOA requests and statuses across the full LOA pipeline.
  • Ensure all LOA-related updates are accurately and promptly reflected in Workday, coordinating with HRSS as required.
  • Ensure all LOA memos are issued and generated in a timely and accurate manner, meeting BCG’s standards for documentation and communication.
  • Proactively identify risks, delays, or bottlenecks in the LOA process and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders where needed.
  • Support CD-related Workday updates in coordination with the broader People Team

Pyramid Planning (20% of role)

  • Support pyramid planning activities for the consulting team, providing data and tracking inputs as required.
  • Contribute to headcount and workforce planning processes by maintaining accurate leave records that inform capacity and staffing projections.
  • Coordinate with the CD team and Staffing on the impact of LOA on team structures and resource planning.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant HR operations or HR coordination experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably with a business or HR focus.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Workday or similar HR systems is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with leave of absence processes, policies, and employment legislation in Southeast Asia is an advantage.

Personal & Professional Attributes:

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with experience working across multiple stakeholder levels, including senior leadership.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset.
  • Service-oriented with a proactive approach to problem solving and issue resolution.
  • Able to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality regarding all HR matters.
  • Strong drive for excellence and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes

A key member of the Southeast Asia People Team, directly reporting to the SEA Career Development Senior Manager. You will have regular interactions with the Consulting Team, Staffing, the broader HR team in Southeast Asia, Asia-Pacific and Global, HRSS, and key Managing Director & Partner stakeholders.
