This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

Roche's Clinical Development organization is structured by therapeutic area and is responsible for developing and executing late-stage development (Phase II–III) clinical strategies that deliver medically differentiated therapies for patients. We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Director (grading commensurate with experience) to join our Neuroimmunology team, specifically focusing on Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

The Opportunity

As a Medical Director, you will participate in or lead the development of Clinical Development (CD) plans, ensuring the effective execution of strategies for assigned molecules and indications. This is a junior to mid-level individual contributor position without people management responsibilities. The Opportunity
To help us deliver life-changing therapies to patients, you will take on a vital role in our Neuroimmunology team and drive the following key responsibilities:

  • CDP Strategy and Planning: Lead or contribute to the creation of the Clinical Development Plan (CDP), gathering data to ensure strategic alignment with long-term lifecycle plans.

  • Study Design and Execution: Lead the design and execution of Phase II and III clinical studies, collaborating with cross-functional teams on study analytics, data management, and safety profiles.

  • Scientific Leadership: Maintain the highest levels of scientific and clinical knowledge within the MS and Neuroimmunology therapeutic areas.

  • Regulatory Engagement: Take an active role in Health Authority (HA) interactions and provide clinical expertise for regulatory filings, briefing packages, and labeling.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and cultivate relationships with clinical investigators, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and internal partners across research, commercial operations, and legal.

  • Medical Monitoring: Act as a medical monitor for assigned studies, ensuring the correct interpretation of medical and scientific data.

Who You Are

We are looking for a resilient, scientifically driven expert who brings a blend of advanced clinical knowledge and collaborative leadership to our team:

  • Academic & Clinical Expertise: M.D. required with relevant clinical experience as a Neurologist, including specialized training or a significant background working with Multiple Sclerosis patients.

  • Scientific & Industry Experience: Strong scientific background (publishing in peer-reviewed journals, academic, or teaching background is a plus) alongside preferred prior industry experience in MS clinical development (>2 years) or recognition as an MS field expert (e.g., Assistant Professor).

  • Clinical Trials & Regulatory Knowledge: Significant experience designing/conducting clinical trials, a strong understanding of Phase II–III drug development, and required knowledge of GCP, ICH, FDA, and EMA guidelines (preferred for entry-level candidates).

  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to present complex data, paired with the ability to build relationships and influence without authority in a complex, cross-functional environment.

  • Strategic Leadership & Mobility: Sound judgment for ethical and business decision-making, strong cross-functional leadership acumen, and the ability to travel globally up to 30%.
