Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA/APP) - Hospital Medicine

Charlottesville, VAPosted Today
Full time

Job Description

UVA Health is seeking a motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Hospital Medicine service at UVA Medical Center. This position offers the opportunity to practice in an independent, inpatient practice model — managing an autonomous panel of hospitalized patients with attending-level accountability within a collaborative, multidisciplinary hospital environment.

The APP in this role will serve as a primary provider for an assigned inpatient census, leading comprehensive management of general medicine patients from admission through discharge. The successful candidate will function with a high degree of clinical independence, consistent with their licensure and scope of practice, and will be expected to bring the clinical acumen and confidence consistent with that model.

This position is affiliated with the UVA Health Center for Advanced Practice (CAP), the system-level home for advanced practice governance, professional development, and provider support. Through CAP, the APP will have access to a robust infrastructure for career growth, peer connection, and operational guidance.

Please submit a cover letter with your application package to help contextualize your interest, experience, and goals.

Preferred qualifications:

Prior experience in hospital medicine, internal medicine, or a high-acuity inpatient setting; familiarity with inpatient throughput and care coordination processes; interest in quality improvement or APP professional development.

Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen.
