How you’ll make an impact in this role

  • Provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team.
  • Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient during inter-facility and intra-facility as part of the transport team in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse.
  • Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
  • Contact receiving medical personnel, report observations and follow directives.
  • Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
  • May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date OR job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer
    date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
    degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

  •  2 years experience as a paramedic with a 911 service
  • Ability to work both Day and Night Shifts - 6:30am-7:00pm and 6:30pm-7:00am
  • PRN Commitment: Tier 1 = 36 hours per 6 week schedule or Tier 2 = 72 hours per 6 week schedule
