The starting pay range for this position begins at $17.85/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements. Full Time: a position working 35+ hours per week.
Lead Room Attendant assists management in the support of employees in meeting standards in assigned zone to ensure that Village Hotel quality standards are met and exceeded on the guest floors. Responsibilities include: accountability for attainment of standards in assigned rooms; monitoring productivity and standards for other attendants in assigned zone; completion of daily paperwork and documentation of quality sign off as required; assistance in the training of staff; and cover inspection of rooms as deemed necessary by the housekeeping supervisor. Offers general assistance and support for leadership, department, and company as required.
Schedule can vary but will generally be Thursday - Wednesday 8am - 4pm
Requirements:
1. At least six (6) months of previous experience in housekeeping and/or custodial, janitorial, or related field; knowledge of hotel housekeeping and/or rooms operations.
2. Demonstrated commitment to delivery of world class internal/external guest service.
3. Knowledge of proper chemical handling and cleaning techniques.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; conveys information effectively and professionally; leadership skills a plus.
5. Excellent time management, organizational, and planning skills; multi-tasks effectively under deadlines; prioritizes work, adapts; keen attention to details is a must.
6. Proactive, exercises good judgment; takes initiative, troubleshoots as appropriate.
7. Professionally represents department and company.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Complete daily assignments while maintaining proper time management skills and exceptional performance.
2. Proper storage, replacement and placement of guest room amenities and linens.
3. Make up beds in guest rooms following standards; dust and vacuum guest rooms.
4. Proper storage and usage of cleaning chemicals maintaining safety measures.
5. Cleaning and sanitizing of guest bathrooms, mirrors and windows, using proper chemicals; emptying trash and disposing of properly; deep cleaning the rooms as necessary; stocking and cleaning housekeeping cart.
6. Responds appropriately and professionally to guest inquiries and questions.
7. Accountability for standards in assigned areas; documentation of room quality and cleanliness sign offs.
8. "Go to" resource for other staff, leadership, and guests.
Physical Requirements:
1. Able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 75 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally (with assistance).
2. Endure various physical movements throughout the work area; must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, reach overhead and below.
3. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time throughout the shift; may occasionally work in locations where the ability to climb ladders or stairs would be required.
4. Ability to operate/use small commercial cleaning equipment.
