Job Description

As a Geotechnical Lab Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work with Engineers and Project Managers on large-scale, world-class projects for the infrastructure, oil sands, and mining industry. This role will provide you with excellent technical challenges and an opportunity to work closely with other talented professionals committed to delivering high quality engineering and environmental services to clients.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Use and grow your skills in a geotechnical lab

  • Respond to requests to conduct geotechnical materials testing and reporting

  • Conduct geotechnical index testing, including proctor, Particle Size Distribution (PSD) and Atterberg Limits testing

  • Learn advanced testing methodologies such as direct simple shear, triaxial test, hydrometers, etc.

  • Engage in core logging, drilling supervision and construction monitoring, as needed

  • Utilize your drafting and civil design abilities

  • Prepare, update, finalize and file engineering drawings and packages

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology

  • Registered or eligible to register with ASET

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Willingness to travel

  • Eagerness to learn good engineering practice
