An ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) Teacher in the High School setting plays a pivotal role in supporting English Learners (ELs) and ensuring program compliance with educational standards.

The ESOL Teacher assists in the implementation of the school's ESOL program, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal guidelines along with the responsibility of teaching and/or co-teaching ESOL classes. When needed, he or she will represent the ESOL program in meetings, such as IEPs and retention committees while overseeing the screening, testing, and placement of ELs. The ESOL teacher must maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance purposes; thus, qualities of being detail-oriented and organized are significant.
Experience in working with English Language Learners is desired.
Candidate should hold a PSC Teaching Certificate in a high school content area (English Language Arts is preferred) and preferably have the ESOL Endorsement
