Reporting to the TMA Senior Engineer, you will be part of the Tailings Management Area (TMA) Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. Your responsibilities will include:
Complete project specific survey tasks including, layouts, as-built topo, quantity measurements, grade verification, to support ongoing construction activities at the TMA;
Complete drone related survey tasks including flight planning, ground control point layout and image processing using PIX4D photogrammetry software;
Support the construction team with field coordination and day-day planning of construction projects to ensure works are being completed in accordance with IFC drawings;
Support Project Leads with drafting tasks including development of design surfaces for upload into data collectors and machine control files;
Support the TMA Engineer with weekly/monthly monitoring and inspections of critical infrastructure on site.
Support the project team with crushing/aggregates requirements, planning, and quantity tracking;
Support the TMA Lab Technician with QA/QC sampling requirements and testing of aggregates to determine particle size distribution.
Be responsible for actively identifying all potential hazards and immediately bringing them to the attention of the Senior Supervisors and Superintendent and safety to mitigate them in a timely manner.
Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technician/Technology or related field (Mining/Civil/Mechanical), preferred;
Transport Canda Pilot Certification (Basic Operations) of Remotely Piloted Aircraft, preferred;
Previous experience in mining or heavy civil construction industry is considered an asset;
Previous experience in utilizing Trimble GPS survey instrumentation, Trimble total station and operation of drones for use of photogrammetry surveys is considered an asset;
Previous experience in utilizing computer software such as Deswik or AutoCAD Civil 3D for survey related tasks, is considered an asset;
Highly developed interpersonal, problem solving, customer service orientation and team skills;
Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines;
Effective problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach;
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule:
Schedule: 7/7 schedule (Friday – Thursday), at our Detour Lake Mine;
Accommodation and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
Compensation Statement
In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
