
Specialist II, Learning Experience Designer
Job Description
The Specialist II, Learning Experience Designer (LXD-II) is an experienced designer who takes ownership of course design
and ensures all deliverables meet quality and accreditation standards. This role requires a collaborative spirit, an eye for
detail, and a passion for lifelong learning.
• Design and create interactive modules, instructional videos, podcasts, and infographics.
• Collaborate with Assessment Developers (AD) to design assessments: scenario-based, case-study, etc.
• Ensures all content is culturally inclusive and accessible, following universal design principles and applicable
accessibility standards
• Collaborate with Assessment Developers (AD) and Instructional Designers (ID) to structure courses and
learning pathways with active learning through varied methodologies: gamification, peer collaboration,
assessments, and feedback loops
• Participate in interviews, brainstorming sessions, and feedback loops with subject matter experts (SMEs),
faculty members, and other internal collaborators to incorporate their knowledge in program/course design
• Collaborate with Academic and Innovative Technology (AIT) in the facilitation of pilot testing of new courses
and analysis of feedback
• Maintain a current understanding of nursing and healthcare professions curriculum and professional
development research and trends related to online teaching and learning practices
• Mentor Specialist I, Learning Experience Designers by reviewing their work, and providing constructive
feedback
• Review learner/participant feedback and analyze course data to identify opportunities for improvement and
innovation
• Participate in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise
• Perform other duties as assigned
• A Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience;
or a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience
• A minimum of three years of experience developing courses in an LMS and authoring tools is required
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is required
• Demonstrated understanding of concept-based, competency-based, project-based, and other learning design
models is required
• Knowledge of adult learning theory and continuing education required
• Demonstrated experience contributing to learning design systems with numerous stakeholders and
requirements is required
• Experience in Nursing/Allied Health/Health Sciences Education preferred
• Experience in micro-credentialing preferred
