Trusted by over 50,000 businesses nationwide, Auris pairs easy-to-use technology with real human services to give leaders the confidence that every detail is done right - so they can focus on growing their team and their business. Acquired by Acrisure in 2025, Auris formerly Heartland Payroll is accelerating its vision to deliver seamless human-centered technology to help small businesses thrive.
Summary of This Role
This role sits at the intersection of employee experience and client trust – responsible for the stories we tell inside our walls and the messages that reach the employers and businesses we serve.
You will be a primary owner of high-visibility internal communications – from executive messaging and change management campaigns to culture content and company-wide announcements – while also supporting client-facing communications that reinforce Auris's credibility, trust, and service commitment. You are comfortable writing for a COO and for a CSR in the same week. You understand that in a payroll SaaS environment, what we say (and how fast we say it) directly affects client confidence and employee performance.
This role is right for a communicator who is disciplined but creative, can manage multiple fast-moving workstreams, and brings a builder's mindset to a function that is still scaling.
What You’ll Do
Internal Communications (~70%)
Develop and execute internal communications plans for company initiatives, product launches, leadership announcements, and organizational changes.
Ghost-write executive communications reflect each leader's voice and land with clarity and credibility.
Own content production for MyAuris (our company intranet), including culture content, news updates, program spotlights, and team features.
Manage change management communications for technology transitions and process rollouts affecting front-line employees and field teams.
Lead messaging strategy for employee programs, including peer recognition, culture initiatives, and cross-functional campaigns.
Partner with various stakeholder groups to align internal messaging with business priorities and timelines.
Maintain a consistent editorial calendar and communications rhythm across channels, ensuring employees hear about what matters.
Develop communications frameworks, templates, and playbooks that improve speed and consistency across the team.
Client Communications (~30%)
Draft client-facing communications for service updates, system changes, compliance notifications, and proactive outreach from the Auris team.
Support crisis and incident communications, including holding statements, client notifications, and internal briefings aligned to our Incident Response framework.
Collaborate with Client Success and Operations to develop messaging that reinforces trust and reduces client anxiety during transitions or issues.
Write and maintain client communication templates that front-line teams can deploy quickly and consistently.
Ensure tone, accuracy, and timing of all client communications meet Auris standards and reflect our commitment to unreasonable hospitality.
What Are We Looking for in this Role?
5-7 years of communications experience, with a demonstrated track record in internal communications, corporate communications, or a closely related function.
Exceptional writing ability across formats and audiences, from executive memos to Teams announcements to client notifications.
Experience in SaaS, fintech, HR tech, or payroll strongly preferred; you understand the stakes when communications touch employee paychecks or client trust.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment without losing quality or missing deadlines.
Experience working with or ghostwriting for senior leaders; comfort navigating different voice profiles and communication styles.
Familiarity with intranet platforms, email deployment tools, and project management systems (experience with Axero, HubSpot, or Wrike a plus).
Collaborative, low-ego, and highly organized – able to work across teams and follow through without heavy hand-holding.
What we offer
Competitive compensation and performance incentives.
Comprehensive benefits package.
Collaborative, mission-driven culture with high visibility and impact.
Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
