Procurement Specialist

PPG is an American Fortune 500 company and global supplier of paints, coatings, and specialty materials. We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to define and implement strategies across ANZ by administering contracts, ensuring best value for money and strengthening stakeholder relationships to optimise operational and business goals.

The role will be based at our facility in Clayton.

Responsibilities

• Research & implement innovative processes and systems to reduce costs & improve efficiencies
• Contract management and negotiation to secure the most advantageous terms through bidding, vendor sourcing, etc.
• Identify and implement improvement projects within the procurement categories
• Contribute to consolidation, reduction, and rationalization of the local supplier base
• Understanding and keeping up with new trends and regulations in the region
• Ensure performance results and activities are communicated weekly, monthly, and quarterly for the various internal and external stakeholders
• Manage day-to-day relationships with external providers and internal stakeholders
• Ensure active commitment to PPG policy and best practice

Skills and Experience

• 5 years’ working experience in packaging procurement, or related roles, experience in a global, manufacturing or chemical business will be preferred
• Problem solving, root cause and analytical skills
• Strategic thinking that complements the broader business strategy in the region
• Financial and data acumen
• Effective presentation and communication skills
• Negotiation skills
• Experience managing contracts
