Job Description
Contract Period: Permanent / 2-Year Contract
We are looking for a high caliber professional to join the Asset Strategy Branch of Asset Management Department. Subject to the demonstrated calibre, the appointee may be assigned to work in Circuits team of Asset Strategy Branch for the total life cycle management of transmission and distribution power asset. Reporting to the Section Head, the appointee will be responsible for accountabilities including but not limited to the followings:
- Prepare cable/ overhead line equipment specifications, design standards and code of practices to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and the Company’s health, safety, environment and quality standards
- Handle the sourcing of new transmission and distribution cable/ overhead line equipment, system integration, digital and substation interface to facilitate higher degree of digitalization and reliability in power supply network
- Support senior to develop equipment design and ensure quality standard procedures are employed in the design, manufacturing and testing of new equipment for use in the Company
- Conduct fault investigations and diagnosis to determine equipment failure root cause, and develop solutions for system contingency as well as performance improvement
- Support the development of asset total life cycle asset plans, maintenance and condition monitoring strategies to manage transmission and distribution equipment costs and performance over the asset life cycle
- Build digital asset models and conduct asset condition data analytics to facilitate transformation for digital asset management
- Assist in building of necessary digital platforms to combine asset condition data in a common repository for all asset groups and enable system application integration
- Carry out other duties assigned by supervisor as and when required
Requirements:
- A recognized university degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- At least three years’ experience in engineering functions of power systems
- MHKIE or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline will be an advantage
- Mindful and possess good safety knowledge and awareness
- Familiarity with engineering standards, code of practice and relevant statutory regulations
- Proficiency in both spoken and written Chinese and English
- Good presentation and communication skills
- Customer-oriented, self-motivated, good team player, analytical and able to work under pressure and tight schedule
- Strong sense of responsibility with proven interpersonal and team-building skills
- Possession of a valid Driving License (class 1, 2) is preferred
Candidates who demonstrate good potential for further development but with less qualification and/or experience will be considered for a position at lower grade.
