Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Shop Operations Management:
Oversee all shop-floor fabrication activities including cutting, welding, fitting, assembly, and dispatch.
Plan and assign work schedules to optimize manpower and machine utilization.
Maintain equipment, tools, and machinery in optimal working condition to ensure uninterrupted production.
Production Planning & Coordination:
Coordinate with planning teams, manufacturing engineering and design engineering departments to review fabrication drawings and prioritize work orders.
Monitor daily production outputs and adjust schedules to meet project delivery date.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Enforce fabrication standards per EN, ASME and applicable client specifications.
Supervise inspections, dimensional checks, welding quality, and final acceptance of fabricated components.
Maintain detailed production, welding, and inspection records for traceability.
Safety & Housekeeping:
Enforce strict compliance with safety policies and PPE usage in the fabrication shop.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety drills, and incident investigations as necessary.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to reduce hazards and improve efficiency.
Team Leadership & Training:
Supervise welders, fabricators, fitters, helpers, and shop floor supervisors.
Assess performance, provide coaching, and identify training needs for skill enhancement.
Foster teamwork, productivity, and discipline on the shop floor.
Monitor inventory levels of consumables, steel materials, and welding supplies.
Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to avoid shortages or overstocking.
Ensure proper storage and material traceability in compliance with project and QA requirements.

Coordination with project teams and timely delivery of fabricated components
Equipment maintenance and material inventory control
Qualifications and Skills:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication Technology, or a related field
Experience:
10–15 years of experience in fabrication operations within pressure vessels or heavy industrial sectors
Solid knowledge of structural and piping fabrication, welding techniques, and equipment
Familiarity with relevant standards: ASME Section IX, ISO 3834
Required Skills:
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Proficiency in reading fabrication drawings and welding symbols
Working knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW)
Technical proficiency in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methodologies, specifically RT, UT, and MPT
Good communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with SAP or production planning tools (preferred)
