Overview We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven professional to join our team as AVP – Media Investment. This role will be responsible for leading media buying and investment strategies across digital and traditional platforms, driving media efficiencies, strengthening publisher partnerships, and ensuring optimal value delivery for clients. The incumbent will play a critical role in maximizing media performance, negotiating competitive deals, and supporting business growth through strategic investment planning. Responsibilities • Lead media investment strategy and execution across digital, television, print, radio, OOH, and emerging media platforms • Develop and implement investment frameworks that optimize media effectiveness, efficiency, and ROI for clients • Drive annual and quarterly rate negotiations with media owners, publishers, broadcasters, and platform partners • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media partners to unlock value-added opportunities, innovations, and preferred commercial arrangements • Collaborate closely with Planning, Strategy, Client Leadership, and Activation teams to ensure alignment between media strategy and investment outcomes • Monitor market trends, pricing movements, inventory availability, and competitive investment practices to provide strategic recommendations • Ensure delivery of media buying KPIs, savings targets, rate benchmarks, and client profitability objectives • Lead investment reviews, performance discussions, and commercial negotiations with clients and media partners • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and investment governance across the media buying function • Support new business pitches by developing competitive investment approaches, media partnerships, and commercial solutions • Manage and mentor a high-performing investment team, fostering capability development and operational excellence • Work closely with finance and commercial teams to ensure accurate billing, reconciliations, compliance, and revenue realization • Champion data-driven decision-making by leveraging media performance insights, benchmarks, and investment analytics Qualifications • 15+ years of experience in Media Investment, Media Buying, Trading, or Commercial Media Operations within media agencies or advertiser organizations • Strong expertise across both traditional and digital media ecosystems • Proven track record of leading large-scale media investments and delivering commercial value for clients • Deep understanding of media pricing models, negotiation strategies, audience measurement systems, and market dynamics • Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience • Demonstrated leadership experience managing large teams and cross-functional collaborations • Excellent analytical, commercial, negotiation, and presentation skills • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred Additional information Success Measures • Achievement of investment efficiency and savings targets • Strong publisher and media partner relationships • Improved client ROI and media performance outcomes • Contribution to agency profitability and business growth • Successful delivery of new business and pitch support initiatives • Team capability development and retention
