ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as inspectors, machine setters, or fabricators
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
- Give and receive constant feedback to build relationships with employees on ways to improve performance, quality, and efficient production activities
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations, activities, and cross training opportunities within or between departments
- Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or delegate employee training to experienced workers
- Evaluate employee performance and set challenging but realistic goals to develop skill sets needed currently or in the future within the organization
- Communicate with the Leadership Team on issues that are problems or potentially could become problems within the organization
- Consult with HR to resolve complex worker conflicts, problems, or complaints not addressed in the Employee Handbook
- Follow disciplinary procedures with employees according to policy
- Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
- Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards
- Monitor standards, budgets, production goals, and rates, based on company policies, equipment and labor availability, and workloads
- Calculate labor and equipment requirements and production specifications, using standard formulas
- Maintain operations data, such as time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results
- Follows 5S procedures.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
- Associate Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 years’ experience supervising in a manufacturing environment
- Skilled in communicating effectively orally and in writing to different audiences
- Skilled in motivating, developing, and directing people
- Skilled in making sound decisions
- High level of business acumen
- Knowledgeable of employment laws
- Ability to be original in problem solving
- Intermediate skills in MS Office
- Ability to be flexible & adaptable to changing priorities
- Skilled in interviewing and hiring talent
- Skilled in thinking critically and solving complex problems
- Skilled at time management
- Ability to coach, discipline and develop employees consistently and fairly
- Experience using ERPs and HRIS
- Bachelor’s degree is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 6 years’ experience supervising in an electronics manufacturing environment
- Skilled in making sound decisions with little to no information
- Highly skilled in motivating, developing, and directing people
- Advanced skills in MS office
- Highly skilled in persuading and negotiating
- Advanced knowledge of employment laws
Typical working conditions at Kitron are indoors, safe, well lit, temperature controlled, low exposure to noxious fumes or offensive odors, clean and sanitary conditions with average light industrial noise. Production areas have machinery with moving parts. Static dissipative smock, and shoes are required. Offices with locking doors, meeting rooms, and common printing areas are well lit, clean, low noise, and temperature controlled with no exposure to noxious fumes or offensive odors.
