We have an amazing opportunity for a Trade and Customs Compliance Manager to make a real difference at Kraft Heinz. The position lies within the Global Indirect Tax Team. Reporting directly to the Indirect Tax, Europe; this role will partner with various departments including Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Tax and Controllership to align trade operations with the overall business objectives.
The Trade and Customs Compliance Manager will serve as the primary contact for all trade and customs related matters within Kraft Heinz, which connects to the broader tax requirements and initiatives. The role will primarily focus on trade outside of North America (mostly Europe).
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement trade programs and processes to ensure compliance, reduce risks, and maximize operational efficiency in the following areas
Customs broker declaration, tariff classification, customs valuation, origin and FTAs, import licenses
Maintain trade compliance policies and procedures in line with AEO standards by conducting routine internal audits, self-assessments and post-clearance reviews
Review trade flow design to ensure compliance and documentation requirements are met
Manage customs audits across different regions with customs authorities and business units; ensuring risk mitigation, implementing corrective actions and adherence to international and local regulations
Manage Inward Processing License in the Netherlands
Identify and execute savings opportunities (e.g., FTZ/bonded warehousing, inward processing, duty drawback, tariff suspension, where applicable) while maintaining traceability
Ensure compliant customs valuation (assists, royalties, freight, etc.) and alignment with finance/transfer pricing requirements
Own trade master data and related trade management tools (i.e. SAP GTS, Oracle GTM)
Monitor and support compliance with ESG Taxes and related initiatives (CBAM, Plastic Packaging Tax, Sugar Tax)
Coordinate with tax team on import VAT, and ensure operational alignment for Intrastat reporting where required
Provide guidance and training to internal teams on trade compliance topics and best
practices
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in International Trade, Finance, Tax, International Business, Tax Law or similar field
CPG / FMCG experience preferred
7+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs operations, international trade and audit defense
Extensive knowledge in both EU customs and VAT
Proficient in Excel, Power Point and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch
