Essential Duties:

BUILDING ATTENDANT:
Keeps buildings and premises in a clean and neat condition. Including cleaning of bathrooms and trash removal.
May answer the telephone, provide information to the public, assist the public with concerns or refer them to appropriate individuals or take messages, monitor, greet, and direct the public.
May relocate groups in the building for meetings, classes, activities, etc.
Opens and secures buildings/grounds; notifies police when necessary.
Instructs users on the safe and proper utilization of the facility.
Moves furniture and other medium to heavy objects as necessary.
Removes snow, ice, and debris from outside steps and walkways, spreads salt as needed, and general lawn care and
landscaping, including weeding, raking, and trimming.Depending on the facility one is assigned incumbent may be required to handle cash receipts, operate a computer,
and manage a concession stand.Able to work alone or with minimal supervision.
Makes emergency calls related to the facility or calls 911, if necessary.
Communicates to the Recreation Specialist any safety concerns, vandalism, injuries, etc. that occur/are noticed during work hours.
Other duties as assigned.
PARK ATTENDANT:
- Maintains a positive and inviting disposition to assure the most positive reflection of the Parks and Harford County Government.
- Handles all inquiries; provides information to the public regarding pavilion rentals; assists the public with concerns, refers them to the appropriate individual or takes messages: monitors, greets, and directs the public.
- Advises park users on safe use of the facility and enforces posted park/department rules.
- Keeps buildings and park premises in a clean and neat condition, including cleaning of pavilions, restrooms, pa rk office and amenities, and trash removal.
- General lawn care and landscaping including weeding, raking, and trimming.
- Work independently, with minimal supervision.
- May oversee volunteer groups.
- Operation of a utility vehicle/pick-up truck, and small engine tools (string trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, etc.).
- Secures the building and grounds; notifies the Sheriff's Department and Emergency Services when necessary.
- Communicates to the Recreation Specialist any safety concerns, vandalism, injuries, etc. that occur.
- This position requires heavy manual labor at times; and the ability to lift medium to heavy objects, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb.

May also need to operate a golf cart and/or John Deer Gator
Education:
Possession of a high school diploma, vocational-technical school, or GED certificate.

License:
