THE POSITION: 

At STACK, the Vice President, Commissioning & Integration provides executive leadership in validating that STACK’s data centers function with excellence, deliver superior quality, and optimize Client experience. This role owns the strategy and execution of commissioning, integration, and facility turnover, ensuring seamless transformation from development to fully Ready for Service (RFS), Client-ready facilities.

Acting as STACK’s senior subject matter expert for commissioning and integration, the Vice President, Commissioning & Integration will:

  • Act as a visible safety leader, empowering a culture of safety, security, and compliance across all aspects of commissioning and integration.
  • Standardize and continuously improve commissioning processes, driving higher quality and safety while reducing schedule and cost.
  • Lead the development of commissioning strategies, acceptance tests, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) protocols.
  • Collaborate with Development, Critical Operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful facility delivery.
  • Oversee project closeout in partnership with general contractors, architects, and engineers.
  • Establish and maintain commissioning and integration lessons learned, incorporating them into STACK’s evolving Basis of Design (BOD).
  • Lead the cross-functional readiness process with Environmental Health & Safety, Technical Operations, IT, Security, Finance, and other stakeholders to deliver world-class Client-ready facilities.
  • Develop, standardize, optimize, and automate processes supporting successful RFS and operational readiness.
  • Ensure successful ownership transfer of the Safety-in-Design (SiD) final report and infrastructure asset records from Development to Critical Operations.
  • Provide leadership and executive-level reporting on commissioning, integration, and readiness performance to the Board of Directors as required.
  • Support Critical Operations during emergencies on an as-needed basis.

THE DETAILS:

  • Location: Remote
  • Travel: Domestic travel required 25–50%
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must pass comprehensive background screening

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of critical facility construction, commissioning, and operations leadership experience, with proven success leading commissioning teams at scale.
  • Strong background in developing and executing commissioning programs, test scripts, and IST.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional programs, influence senior stakeholders, and deliver results under tight timelines.
  • Exceptional leadership and team development skills, with experience building and scaling high-performing teams.
  • Experience presenting to executive stakeholders and Boards of Directors.
  • PMP certification or substantial project management experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to navigate seamlessly between boardroom, construction site, and data hall.

Compensation Range:

$233,280.00 - $268,920.00
