The Cemetery Maintenance Worker position is a job where you’ll be working outdoors, helping to maintain the Grandview and Roselawn Cemetery grounds. You’ll learn about the history of the citizens of Fort Collins dating back to 1887 in addition to landscaping techniques, turf care, and irrigation practices while performing a variety of duties including edging, raking, cleaning debris, weeding and precision mowing which are skills you can take with you as you grow into your green industry career. Essential Duties: -Assists in maintenance of City cemetery grounds at Roselawn and Grandview. -Once trained, operate a variety of equipment including: small utility carts, hand tools, and power tools including weed whips, mowers, blowers, edgers, etc. -Clean and remove trash from all areas of the cemeteries. -Assist with horticulture maintenance (shrub beds, flower beds, specialty gardens). -Assist with irrigation maintenance and repairs as needed. -Assist with snow removal as needed. -Assist with interments (setup and teardown of funeral equipment, opening/closing graves). -Work successfully in a team environment, as well as autonomously, in all weather conditions. -Interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner. -Engage with team members in a considerate and helpful manner and project a positive attitude in the workplace. -Assist with additional tasks to help other Park divisions. -All other duties as assigned.
