Electrical Engineer

NSF NOIRLab is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to support operations at Kitt Peak National Observatory with primary responsibility for the Mayall 4‑meter Telescope electrical infrastructure. This role focuses on assessing, maintaining, and upgrading mission‑critical power systems, including generators, UPS systems, switchgear, and power distribution. The engineer will design and implement robust backup power strategies, monitor system performance, address power quality issues, and ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. Based in Tucson, AZ with regular work at the Kitt Peak summit; transportation provided.
