About the RoleWe’re looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our team. In this role, you’ll play an important part in both patient care and research by collecting and preparing lab samples that support diagnosis, treatment, and scientific discovery.
You’ll work directly with patients and donors in both bedside and outpatient settings, helping ensure they feel comfortable while delivering accurate, high-quality sample collection.
The starting annual salary for this position is $38,235 and this can include a full comprehensive benefits package.
What You’ll Do:
Collect blood samples from patients and donors using venipuncture, butterfly, and microsampling techniques
Perform phlebotomy at the patient bedside and in approved outpatient locations
Ensure proper patient identification and accurate labeling of all specimens
Enter and manage laboratory orders within hospital and lab systems
Prepare and process specimens for clinical and research testing
Provide a calm and supportive experience for patients during sample collection
Follow all safety, privacy, and compliance standards

Experience performing phlebotomy (healthcare or clinical setting preferred)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting
Comfort working directly with patients and handling sensitive situations with care
Basic computer skills and ability to learn healthcare systems
Preferred:
Phlebotomy experience in an oncology setting
Experience in a high-volume, customer-facing environment

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience1. Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in performing phlebotomy and collection techniques; or
2. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and successful completion of an approved Phlebotomy certificate program.
3. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience performing phlebotomy and collection techniques.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
