
Senior Principal Product Development Engineer, GaN (m/f/d)

About the role
We are looking for a Senior Principal Engineer (m/f/d) to lead and deliver high-impact developments within our growing GaN portfolio. In this role, you will act as a technical authority, driving innovation across complex, multi-site R&D programmes, and ensuring best-in-class performance of GaN-based devices, products, and processes.
You will play a key role in shaping technology and product roadmaps, influencing strategic direction, and supporting the advancement of next-generation wide bandgap semiconductor solutions.
What you will do
Lead and contribute to strategic, business-critical GaN R&D projects across multiple sites
Act as a recognised expert in GaN and wide bandgap technology within the organisation
Own the performance, functionality, and integration of GaN devices, products, and related interfaces
Deliver innovative technical solutions to advance GaN product development
Analyse technology and market trends to influence future GaN roadmap direction
Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal stakeholders, customers, and partners
Support and drive process improvements and faster time-to-market initiatives
Mentor engineers and build technical capability across the organisation
Contribute to and influence product technology roadmaps and R&D strategy
What you will bring
Deep knowledge of semiconductor devices, with strong focus on GaN or wide bandgap technologies
Proven ability to solve complex technical challenges and deliver innovation
Strong understanding of device physics, product development, and semiconductor processing
Experience connecting device-level design to system-level application performance
Strong ownership and accountability for project and technical deliverables
Strategic thinking with the ability to influence technology direction
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Collaborative, with experience working in global, cross-functional environments
Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and problem-solving
Your profile
Degree or equivalent in Semiconductor Physics, Electronics Engineering, or Microelectronics
Typically 7+ years’ experience in semiconductor R&D or product development
Strong track record in GaN or wide bandgap semiconductor technologies
Recognised technical expertise with the ability to lead or influence complex engineering programmes
