Cost Planning and Estimating Lead
Job Description
- Undertaking top-down Cost Planning
- Working with Single Line Diagrams and technical information to produce First Principles Estimating
- Technical knowledge of Substation and transmission infrastructure & technology
- Lead the estimation process for construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and accurate estimates.
- Prepare capital cost estimates to meet industry standard estimate classification guidelines, in particular AACE.
- Use of in-house data to perform benchmarking analysis.
- Analyse and interpret project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop comprehensive cost estimates, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Review and analyse bids, proposals, and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
- Analysis of construction project change and the provision of feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.
- Implement estimating processes, proceedures and tools where required.
- Working collaboratively and seamlessly with all other key project and programme functions such as; cost, risk and planning teams.
- Analyse and assess costs and estimates provided by suppliers and contractors
- Provide process and technical estimating support and production of feasibility studies
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to junior estimators and team members
