Position Overview The First Aid Assistant is responsible for providing immediate first aid care and basic medical support to students, staff, and visitors during school hours. The role ensures student health, safety, and well-being while supporting the school’s health policies and safeguarding procedures. Key Responsibilities Provide immediate first aid care for injuries, illnesses, and medical emergencies Monitor students who feel unwell and determine appropriate action, including rest, referral, or escalation Administer basic medications as authorized by school policy and parental consent Maintain accurate medical records, incident reports, and treatment logs Assist in managing students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, allergies, diabetes) Ensure the school sick room/clinic is clean, well-stocked, and compliant with safety standards Maintain and regularly check first aid kits and emergency equipment Support implementation of school health, safety, and hygiene protocols Assist during emergencies, drills, and evacuation procedures Communicate promptly with parents/guardians regarding student health issues Coordinate with teachers, school administrators, and external medical services when required Always maintain confidentiality of medical information Maintain student medical records and update health information Support health screenings, immunization checks, and school medical programs (if applicable) Assist with documentation for accidents, insurance, and compliance requirements Qualifications Experience Certification in First Aid and CPR/AED (mandatory) Diploma or training in Nursing, Health Care, or Paramedical Services Prior experience working in a school, clinic, or healthcare setting Knowledge of child health, basic hygiene, and emergency response procedures Skills Competencies Calm, compassionate, and responsible approach to student care Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations Good communication and interpersonal skills Strong record-keeping and organizational skills Understanding of child safeguarding and confidentiality Benefits at CHIREC Competitive salary depending upon qualifications and experience Lunch on all school-working days School transport as per the available bus routes Comprehensive Medical Insurance Personal accident policy Term Life policy Professional Development How to Apply Complete this application before the closing date.
